Beware of Tax Notice Scam

Beware of Tax Notice Scam

According to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) taxpayers and tax professionals have been receiving fraudulent CP2000 tax notices informing the taxpayer that they are being billed for unpaid taxes related to the Affordable Care Act.

Per the IRS, taxpayers have been receiving the falsified tax notices via email. The notices appear to be requesting payment be sent to a PO Box located in Austin, Texas with a letter number “105C”. The IRS will never send an email or contact you via social media. If any taxpayer is contacted in this way the IRS is requesting that the fraudulent CP2000 tax notice is forwarded to the email phishing@irs.gov.

If you have any questions or concerns about a tax notice you received please contact HHL Group, Inc. at (330) 721.1410. We would be happy to assist you.
